On Friday, August 28 many Pi Delta alumni payed the TKE house a visit. The alumni got to see many of their brothers who they had not seen in many years while the new brothers got to hear stories of years past. Alumni are so important to the Pi Delta brothers and all of them thank the ones who were able to come and support the current chapter. The chapter is planning on hosting more alumni based events in the near future, so please be on the look-out for new posts.
Saturday, August 29, the brothers of Pi Delta chapter hosted the legendary Kon-Teke-E party. This party has been hosted by the Pi Delta brothers for decades, and it has always been a huge success. Kon-Teke-E is a luau style party complete with Tiki torches, bamboo, grass skirts, and just about everything else tiki. The brothers worked long and hard to transform the TKE house into a tropical paradise fit for the occasion. The house was covered with bamboo and tiki torches and even a fire-spinner to top it all off. The party-goers also dressed for the occasion with some wearing grass skirts, bathing suites, and others wearing various outfits fit for the beach. One fact, however, that out-did all the rest was the shear number of attendees. The house was literally covered from front to back with people. The pictures can speak for themselves on that fact.
Overall, Kon-Teke-E was a huge success and will go down as one of the best parties of the year.

The 55th Biennial Conclave, held in New Orleans, had a record number of attendees this time with 843. The Conclave, which is held every other year, is a time for fraters from all over to meet and conduct business. A few of the highlights of the event included over 2000 hours of community service at City Park, election of a Grand Council, and amended the Constitution and Bylaws of the Fraternity.
On the first day of the Conclave, the Fraternity initiated the 250,000th member, Frater Steve Forbes.
The second day of Conclave provided attendees with several opportunities to continue with education. The men were among several breakout rooms for sessions ranging from “Understanding the Black Book” to “Recruitment” to The Blueprint and beyond.
The end of Friday saw one of the biggest TKE parades on the famous Bourbon Street. The street was overflowing with TKEs as the International Sweethearts and Frater Buckwheat led the procession. The parade was so large that it even drew the attention of the locals. The parade ended at the House of Blues were all the TKEs had a great time till the early hours of morning.
Conclave is always a huge event and this year’s Conclave at New Orleans proved to be the biggest. All had a great time and all are looking forward to 2010’s Conclave at the city of San Antonio.
