Thanks to the efforts of Tau Kappa Epsilon’s International headquarters staff and volunteers, continued member educations never stops. Our chapter had the opportunity to road trip up to West Virginia and join 150 Tekes from around the east coast for 4 days of fun and learning. When we weren’t canoeing or swimming, we were eating some of the best food, made by the man, the legend, the Buckwheat. Pictures are to follow…

I must say that I had one of the most exciting and badass weekends of my life. We at the Pi Delta chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon HOSTED 25 Tekes from Florida International University in Miami (Sigma Alpha Chapter). You read that right, they drove 13 hours to see Fraternity brothers that they had never met before in Birmingham. It never ceases to amaze me that two groups of VERY DIFFERENT men can meet up and find out how similar they really are, we truly found brotherhood among one another. It was as if we had known them their whole lives and that they had known us. Something just clicked. Long story short, we hung out and partied all weekend. It was tons of fun. Even as a senior Teke, this amazing Fraternity for LIFE still amazes me.

One of the best parts of being a Teke is that there are tons and tons of other teke chapters scattered all throughout the United States AND Canada! A seldom mentioned perk of being in TKE is that you can go an visit any other chapter in any other state at any time! So, earlier last week a few of us made a simple phone call, hopped in the car, and road up to Tennesee to see our Fraternity brother at Middle Tennessee State University (Sigma Omicron). We didn’t know what to expect as we arrived, but we found that the guys took us in like we were from their chapter! It was an amazing trip! Thanks again guys! Pictures:

As usual, the Tekes are keeping busy during the Summer. Friday we took 20+ people into the heart of good ol’ Bibb county to float the Cahaba. We started the day off right by getting lost for a few hours, but we eventually all ended up at the river. The float took a good 4 hours, every minute of which we enjoyed. School is just around the corner, get ready for the most action packed TKE semester you have ever experienced. Here are some pictures, the rest of which can be found here.

On June 27th, we had our first big event of the summer Teke activities; our first annual “Get Wet With The Tekes” pool party. The event ran all throughout the day at University House from noon till past midnight with a great turn out. We started the day with barbeque, chilled tunes and lying in the sun and ended it with pool football, dancing and a lot of new friends! One of the greatest parts of the party was that we had guest fraters from chapters at Spring Hill, MTSU, and Troy. TKE NATION!
Thanks to all the people who showed up and keep checking for all the coming up Teke summer events.
