This past week Tau Kappa Epsilon held their first voter registration drive. We registered over 600 new voters over the course of two days! TKEs believe in giving back to the community, and this was a great way to do it. So many young Americans are not registered to vote, or don’t know how to do it. Lots of people were glad that we were able to register them right there! Remember – the last day to register to vote is October 24th. Tau Kappa Epsilon has several philanthropic events planned for this semester, and this was just the first of many!
Well, its the summer time and everyone has gone home. Not the Tekes! Instead of sleeping in on Saturday morning we were out cleaning up our Adopt-a-Mile over on Green springs. We made sure to knock out some community service to balance out all the end of school partying. A special thanks goes out to the girls that helped us, Jessica, Connie and Kayla. Thanks ladies!
This weekend, the Brothers of Tau Kappa Epsilon took part in Alpha Omicron Pi’s Philanthropy, Strike out for Arthritis. This competion brought to an end a week long campaign by AoPi and other Greek organizations to raise money for an Arthritis cure. Granted we weren’t the best bowlers at the bowling alley, we were by far the most fun! Here are some pictures:
Yesterday was AZD’s philanthropy event, Jail-N-Bail. The idea behind Jail-N-Bail is basically, the girls hire a police officer for a day and take him around to arrest unsuspecting victims (Poor Tekes), who are then placed into a “Jail Cell”. The only way to get out is to post up a $20 bail. Unfortunately for some people (Tatum), outsiders can come by and post AGAINST your bail. So your 20 dollar bail can easily grow into a 100 dollar bail! Jail-N-Bail is always one of our favorites, thanks for the fun times AZD. Here are some pictures:
