Pi Delta IS UAB!! It represents the many talents and faces of our diverse student body. Our mission is to be the finest student organization at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
The Pi Delta Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity just celebrated its 32nd year on UAB’s campus. Our goal has been and still is to aid men in their mental, moral, and social development for life. We bring together men from diverse cultural and national backgrounds. We implement and execute an effective academic plan and promote mutually beneficial interactions among undergraduates and alumni.
Our fraternity members are involved in many other campus organizations as well, including USGA, Ambassadors, TrailBlazers, Honor societies including Sigma Alpha Lambda, Phi Sigma, Psi Chi, AED, GCL, Order of Omega, Green and Gold Fund – just to name a few. UAB Tekes compete to win intramural sports and campus events and involves itself heavily in philanthropic activities throughout the school year.
We maintain an ongoing educational program for our members and potential members. Our mentor program has been extremely successful fostering relationships between new, old, and alumni members – assisting undergraduates with the needed guidance and networking opportunities that only TKE can offer.
Pi Delta Chapter won five (5) of the most prestigious Greek Awards during the Spring 2011 Greek Awards Ceremony. Included were the Campus Involvement and Leadership Award, Scholastic Achievement Award, Philanthropic Service Award, and the Chapter Development Award for continuing education of its members. The award that our chapter is proudest of, however, is the Dr. Aaron Lamar Jr. Student Life Excellence Award for overall chapter excellence.
On the academic side, Pi Delta continues to beat the all male average on UAB’s campus, with an overall GPA of 3.0. Academics are of paramount importance to Pi Delta and we strive for the highest GPA that can be achieved.
Tau Kappa Epsilon will provide you with the opportunity to excel in your studies, give back to your community, get involved on campus, and develop lifelong relationships with some of the finest men at UAB.
